24) WIMBLEDON
The FourFourTwo magazine have predicted Wimbledon to finish in 24th place (relegated) for the 2026/27 League One campaign.
26/27 FFT VERDICT: «Even with the right people in charge, the Dons are massively up against it financially at this level. To survive a second time, they’ll need savvy signings and big contributions from Stevens and Marcus Browne up top.»
The FourFourTwo magazine predicted the club to finish in 23rd place for the 2025/26 League One campaign – instead they finished 19th.
23) BURTON ALBION
The FourFourTwo magazine have predicted Burton Albion to finish in 23rd place (relegated) for the 2026/27 League One campaign.
26/27 FFT VERDICT: «As wonderful a job as Bowyer is doing, problems are brewing. NFG spending huge sums in their first season as owners, then having to make sizeable cutbacks in subsequent ones, is almost a recipe for regression.»
The FourFourTwo magazine predicted the club to finish in 19th place for the 2025/26 League One campaign – instead they finished 17th.
22) BROMLEY
The FourFourTwo magazine have predicted Bromley to finish in 22nd place (relegated) for the 2026/27 League One campaign.
26/27 FFT VERDICT: «The Ravens flew to promotion on the wings of set-piece goals and out-of-possession nous. In League One, however, the role of skilled spoilers might limit Bromley unless they have more about them on the ball as well.»
The FourFourTwo magazine predicted the club to finish in 16th place for the 2025/26 League Two campaign – instead they finished as the champions.
21) CAMBRIDGE UNITED
The FourFourTwo magazine have predicted Cambridge United to finish in 21st place (relegated) for the 2026/27 League One campaign.
26/27 FFT VERDICT: «They deserved their promotion, but Cambridge’s struggles to kill teams off and propensity to let in late goals could cost them in League One. With Gibbons and James Brophy both having left, this could be a close call..»

20) NOTTS COUNTY
The FourFourTwo magazine have predicted Notts County to finish in 20th place for the 2026/27 League One campaign.
26/27 FFT VERDICT: «Notts County were fancied for two seasons, then promoted when they weren’t. They’ll need to show that defiance again, as League One will be no easy ride this year. James Gibbons is a good pick-up from Cambridge.»
The FourFourTwo magazine predicted the club to finish in 11th place for the 2025/26 League Two campaign – instead they finished 5th and beat Salford in the playoff final.
19) BARNSLEY
The FourFourTwo magazine have predicted Barnsley to finish in 19th place for the 2026/27 League One campaign.
26/27 FFT VERDICT: «Using their impressive talent identification to develop assets and a cohesive team is how Barnsley will rebuild as a club, structurally and financially. But it does mean things might get worse before they get better.»

18) PETERBOROUGH UNITED
The FourFourTwo magazine have predicted Peterborough United to finish in 18th place for the 2026/27 League One campaign.
26/27 FFT VERDICT: «Williams’ sides can be sizzling when they cook and vulnerable otherwise, so a youthful Posh might have a streaky season of high highs and low lows. They’ll miss key men, though Harrison Jones arrives with rave reviews.»

17) MANSFIELD TOWN
The FourFourTwo magazine have predicted Mansfield Town to finish in 17th place for the 2026/27 League One campaign.
26/27 FFT VERDICT: «Nigel Clough’s preference for experience and versatility has served the Stags well, and will make David McGoldrick (38) a good fit. There just isn’t the growth potential required to stay in touch with the top half.»

16) LEYTON ORIENT
The FourFourTwo magazine have predicted Leyton Orient to finish in 16th place for the 2026/27 League One campaign.
26/27 FFT VERDICT: «Orient went into the summer facing another big rebuild, so it wasn’t ideal that recruitment wheels weren’t in motion from the outset. Though Wellens has worked magic before, the next top-six push may have to wait.»

15) DONCASTER ROVERS
The FourFourTwo magazine have predicted Doncaster Rovers to finish in 15th place for the 2026/27 League One campaign.
26/27 FFT VERDICT: «With an excellent manager and fantastic loan signings, Donny can build on a positive 2025-26. League One looks a lot stronger this year, though, so they could make progress on the pitch and regress in the final standings.»

14) STEVENAGE
The FourFourTwo magazine have predicted Stevenage to finish in 14th place for the 2026/27 League One campaign.
26/27 FFT VERDICT: «With a dozen 1-0 wins built on sound defensive foundations, Boro need Goode’s successor to slot in seamlessly. Harvey White’s move to Plymouth is another blow. Minor regression seems par for their resources.»

13) WIGAN ATHLETIC
The FourFourTwo magazine have predicted Wigan Athletic to finish in 13th place for the 2026/27 League One campaign.

The FourFourTwo magazine predicted the club to finish in 14th place for the 2025/26 League One campaign – instead they finished 16th.
12) BLACKPOOL
The FourFourTwo magazine have predicted Blackpool to finish in 12th place for the 2026/27 League One campaign.
26/27 FFT VERDICT: «Evatt brought long-awaited hope with seven wins in nine to end the campaign. Challenging for the play-offs will depend on ‘good on paper League One defenders doing themselves justice, after shipping 65 goals.»

11) READING
The FourFourTwo magazine have predicted Reading to finish in 11th place for the 2026/27 League One campaign.
26/27 FFT VERDICT: “Mid-table is likely, in keeping with solid if uninspiring displays and results under Richardson. More exciting is the addition of talented 22-year-old forward Kyreece Lisbie, as well as Burton skipper Udoka Godwin-Malife.”

10) MK DONS
The FourFourTwo magazine have predicted Milton Keynes Dons to finish in 10th place for the 2026/27 League One campaign.
26/27 FFT VERDICT: «With a good League One squad already, ambitious MK will also be the most extravagant of the promoted clubs. Individual quality alone could put them in the top-six mix, but Warne will have to show a killer instinct.»

9) BRADFORD CITY
The FourFourTwo magazine have predicted them to finish in Bradford City place for the 2026/27 League One campaign.
26/27 FFT VERDICT: «Adding Beesley to a settled unit – fourth in their first year back at this level – can keep Bradford in the play-off mix. Matching that high bar will be harder without Jenson Metcalfe and Max Power in midfield, though.»
The FourFourTwo magazine predicted the club to finish in 18th place for the 2025/26 League One campaign – instead they finished 4th.
8) SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY
The FourFourTwo magazine have predicted Sheffield Wednesday to finish in 8th place for the 2026/27 League One campaign.
26/27 FFT VERDICT: «For Wednesday, promotion is a reasonable default expectation whenever they’re in the third tier, but not after last season’s dramas. A huge rebuild, with new people across the board – this has to be a two-year job.»
The FourFourTwo magazine predicted the club to finish in 24th place for the 2025/26 Championship campaign – and that is unsurprisingly ended up after their 18 point deduction.
7) WYCOMBE WANDERERS
The FourFourTwo magazine have predicted Wycombe Wanderers to finish in 7th place for the 2026/27 League One campaign.
26/27 FFT VERDICT: «The club has compromised its intimate family feel in favour of Mikheil Lomtadze’s money and ambition, but Duff has bridged some of the gap to the fans – and to the top six. Quality and depth could see them go close.»
The FourFourTwo magazine predicted the club to finish in 9th place for the 2025/26 League One campaign – instead they finished 11th.
6) STOCKPORT COUNTY
The FourFourTwo magazine have predicted Stockport County to finish in 6th place (playoffs) for the 2026/27 League One campaign.
26/27 FFT VERDICT: «Adding Glover and Rochdale’s Kyron Gordon should smoothen McNulty’s stylistic transition, as will the class of Ollie Norwood and Ethan Pye (if he stays). Top six would represent a success for phase one of the evolution.»

5) HUDDERSFIELD TOWN
The FourFourTwo magazine have predicted Huddersfield Town to finish in 5th place (playoffs) for the 2026/27 League One campaign.
26/27 FFT VERDICT: «With 24 players under contract, the Terriers had limited scope to use recruitment to improve, so a lot depends on Drury. The politics of this job will be a test, but his glowing references as a coach should inspire faith.»

4) OXFORD UNITED
The FourFourTwo magazine have predicted Oxford United to finish in 4th place (playoffs) for the 2026/27 League One campaign.
26/27 FFT VERDICT: «A delayed managerial change means the Yellows may peak later under the rookie Ramsey. However, a great squad with a dozen players who thrived in their last League One outing can launch a spring challenge.

3) LUTON TOWN
The FourFourTwo magazine have predicted Luton Town to finish in 3rd place (playoffs) for the 2026/27 League One campaign.
26/27 FFT VERDICT: «With George Johnston coming in and Hakeem Odoffin fit from the outset this time, Luton can take their spring form under Wilshere – an EFL Trophy and 26 points from their last 10 league games – into 2026-27.»

2) PLYMOUTH ARGYLE
The FourFourTwo magazine have predicted Plymouth Argyle to finish in 2nd place (automatic promotion) for the 2026/27 League One campaign.
26/27 FFT VERDICT: «From December, only Lincoln took more points than Argyle, who plan to continue that form across a whole season under a smart coach who is learning fast. Retain their firepower and they will have every chance.»

The FourFourTwo magazine have predicted Leicester City to finish in 1st place (champions) for the 2026/27 League One campaign.
26/27 FFT VERDICT: «Add emerging talents, such as Braybrooke, to internationals with technical ability far above the level and the best-case scenario is frightening for the rest of the league. First things first, Russ: get the culture right.»
